Mackenzie Skapski (WHL.ca) Not a bad Sunday for the 4 New York Islander and New York Ranger prospects who saw action as 4 prospects played and 4 prospects came away with wins. Mackenzie Skapski (NYR 2013 6th) leads the post off after he posted his 8th career shutout, a 2-0 win over the Prince Albert Raiders. The game's first star, Skapski stopped all 30 of the shots he faced as his Kootenay Ice didn't find the scoreboard until 6:15 of the 3rd period. Have to give a stick tap to Prince Albert's goalie Nick McBride who only gave up 1 goal himself. Skapski improves to 4-3-1 as his goals against drops all the way to 2.85 and hius save percentage jumps to 0.909. Ryan Graves (NYR 2013 4th) and his Charlottetown Islanders improved to 8-2-0-1 (3rd QMJHL) after they defeated the Saint John Sea Dogs 4-1. Graves had the primary assist on what proved to be the game winning goal which came at 16:00 of the 2nd period. A pretty solid game for Graves as he led his team with 9 shots on goal in addition to the assist (his 2nd point of the season) and added 2 hits. Graves is back wearing the "A" for the Islanders and I think that is motivating him these days. Loic Leduc (NYI 2012 4th) and his Cape Breton Screaming Eagles became the 1st QMJHL team not to lose to the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada this season with a 5-4 overtime win. The Screaming Eagles rallied from being down 4-2 by scoring the last 3 goals of the game including the game winner 52 seconds into overtime. Leduc had a mixed game as he was a -2 on 1 shot with a minor for cross checking and 3 hits. The Screaming Eagles improve to 6-3-0-2 on the season. Anthony Duclair (NYR 2013 3rd) saw his 3 game scoring streak (3-2-5) come to an end but his Quebec Remparts extended their unbeaten streak to 4 games (3-0-1-0) after a 4-2 win over the Moncton Wildcats. Duclair was a quiet -1 on 1 shot and a minor for high sticking.
