Another Cubs Blog:
Well, the people who have been needlessly attacking Soriano for 2 years may be right after all:
“At this point I don’t care,” Soriano said.
I fully expect the morons to be talking about that quote for some time while completely ignoring the rest of that article.
“If the manager wants to move me from leadoff spot, that’s fine. I’m tired because every year [critics] start again with the leadoff thing. I don’t care, you know?”
Last spring Soriano said the same thing, although not as emphatically. When Piniella did move him during several games, Soriano appeared to sulk.
“If I don’t bat leadoff, I think I can have more RBIs, so I want to be the same guy and … I will do whatever I can do,” he said this year. “But [if not leadoff] I want to stay in one spot and not jump around.”
Soriano is clearly a very selfish player.
I look forward to seeing how some of the idiots break those statements down and twist them in their favor. Soriano has been willing to do whatever it takes to win since the Cubs signed him. Believing otherwise is stupid as fuck.
