Detroit Tigers minor league pitcher Nick Carmichael took the time to do this interview with Sports Glory. He is currently playing for the GCL Tigers. We hope that you enjoy this interview, and thanks for reading! Q. Nick, thanks for taking the time to do this interview. How are you doing today? No problem. I’m doing well, just getting ready for season! Q. What have you been working on in particular this past offseason? Mechanics. At the end of the season I talked a lot about my pitching mechanics with my coaches. I’ve spent this offseason really ironing them out. Q. What is it like being a part of the Detroit Tigers organization? I think it’s great. It’s a great organization to be a part of with some great history. I also have a lot of family in Detroit which makes it even better. Q. Do you know any major league players? Are you close with any other minor leaguers in particular? I am fortunate to be in an agency with some that I get to interact with often in the offseason. I also am close to guys in different organizations that I train with as well. Q. What are your goals for the upcoming season? My biggest goal is I want to win. That is a team and an individual goal for me. If I’m winning, the team is winning, and vice versa. Winning defines success and if my team wins, I’m successful. Q. What advice would you give to a young baseball player with MLB dreams? Work hard and never quit. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Q. Where do you see yourself in five years? What are your goals for that time period? I’d love to be playing baseball still, hopefully in the big leagues. I don’t thinks its unrealistic for that to be my goal. Q. Is there a current MLB player that you try to model your game after? It would be hard not to model Verlander. The guy has pretty much done it all, and over a long period of time. As a San Diego kid I’ve also always liked Jake Peavy and the intensity he brings out there. Q. What do you like to do in your free time away from baseball? I like to surf a lot. That’s usually my go-to in the off season Q. Thanks for taking the time to do this interview Nick, we appreciate it. Anything you’d like to say to the Tigers fan base? No problem, I’m happy to talk a little baseball. Yeah, go Tigers! Let’s get it this year! Thank you for taking the time to read this interview, and we hope that you enjoyed it!
