One Tampa Bay Ray player which has been linked to several trade rumors, Jason Bartlett, has finally been traded, except he’s not going to the Baltimore Orioles. Although there has been no official announcement by the Rays organization, several reports confirm that Bartlett has been traded to the San Diego Padres. The continued improvement of utility infielder Reid Brignac made dealing Bartlett and his $5,000,000 dollar salary easier. Reports state that the Rays received two relief pitchers in return for Bartlett. The Padres are believed to have sent Cesar Ramos and Adam Russell to the Rays in exchange for Bartlett. Ramos has only pitched in 19 major league games and had a 6.26 ERA last season. Ramos is a lefthander. Russell was 7-1 4.50 ERA last season after being acquired by the Padres from the Chicago White Sox.
