The St. Louis Cardinals have agreement in place with utility man Ramon Vazquez, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Derrick Goold. The Minor League deal with come with an invitation to Spring Training and could be completed and announced this weekend.
The 34-year-old Vazquez last played in the Major Leagues in 2009 with the Pittsburgh Pirates when he played in 101 games.
Vazquez will provide the Cardinals the flexibility to play him at second, shortstop and third base.
