Manager Ozzie Guillen loves to quip sarcastic remarks. But he was at least half-serious when he said OF Giancarlo Stanton has been the only reason to watch the Miami Marlins lately.

Miami went 5-6 on their road trip that ended Sunday when they snapped a four-game losing streak with a 6-2 win. Once again, Stanton hit one of four Marlins homers in the game.

"At least we can enjoy every two or three innings ... to see this kid at the plate," Guillen said. "He missed two months and he has almost 30 home runs. That's the only one part we're good for to come to the ballpark and watch."

Stanton, 22, hit his 29th home run Sunday, which was also his eighth in 11 games on the road trip -- a franchise record for homers in a single trip.

"This guy, he's got so much power it's ridiculous," said starting pitcher Mark Buehrle, who improved to 12-11 Sunday. "Every time he hits the ball, it has a chance to go out. He's got almost 30 home runs right now, and he has missed a month and a half? That's scary when you think what he could have done if he was healthy all year."

Stanton has 85 career home runs to move past Mickey Mantle and Andruw Jones for ninth most by a player before the age of 23. Next on the list is Jimmie Foxx, who hit 86. Mel Ott has the record, 115.

Stanton, who turns 23 in November, homered in all three weekend games at Dodger Stadium.

Stanton, who is second to Ryan Braun (34) among National League hitters in the home run race, tried to downplay his trip.

"I'm hitting home runs but I don't really feel like it's a great hitting roll," he said. "I've hit some mistakes. Today it was a fastball down the middle."
