Most fantasy writers have no problem recommending players you should go after, but do they really pick up all the players they hype up? I’ll answer for them: no. Here on “Star’s Shares,” we’ll discuss players yours truly has personally invested in. If a player is good enough to sit on one of my three teams, then surely they are worthy of your attention.
This edition of “Star’s Shares” features more pick-ups than ever, thanks to the injury-bug making its rounds throughout the league. This week, we’ll explain why Yuniesky Betancourt isn’t just on a random hot streak, while also espousing the virtues of a couple of OFs filling in for banged-up players. Come and get it *******.

The 13-Teamer Pick-Ups
The bros in this tier are the ones many of you will find most useful. The league features just one catcher, three outfielders, and no CIs or MIs. It also utilizes c

Who was that on the mound?
Monday marked the first guest appearance of the good version ofUbaldo Jimenez in 2013. I'm not falling for the aberration, but it was an excellent start that he deserves credit for. Early on, it occurred to me that something looked different in his delivery. I'm not going to pretend to be an expert on pitching mechanics, but whatever the difference...
Chris Wallace (Columbus, C) - 5-7, 2 2B, 1 RBI, 1 K, 1 PB - Okay, he may not be a prospect, and it was a 15-inning game. But anytime a guy gets five hits in a game, it is worthy of feature status. When it's in his Triple-A debut for the organization, even more so. Wallace seems to be making a name for himself as a possible depth option at catcher (which may be needed the...
As we enter the month of May for this 2013 Major League Baseball season here at the Corner of Carnegie and Ontario, you will forgive me if I seem a bit confused about my expectations for this baseball team. The team made a variety of moves over the offseason that I have discussed ad nauseum in this column, and improved the core of this team substantially.
But what have we...
The Cleveland Indians were without veteran infielder/outfielder Nick Swisher last night. The 32-year old is battling a sore shoulder and was held out of last night's lineup against the Philadelphia Phillies. Swisher's injury is not considered serious, but the team does not want to chance it getting worse. According to Jordan Bastian of MLB.com, Swisher may miss today...
When the Indians selected Francisco Lindor 8th overall in the 2011 draft, he possessed a high floor and upside. Drafted out of Montverde, Florida, he was an accomplished defender but questions about how long it would take his bat to develop surrounded the young Puerto Rican. In his full season, Lindor has put rest to any doubt whether he will be one of the game’s brightest stars...
Kansas City, MO — Ubaldo Jimenez pitched seven plus innings of shutout baseball and right fielder Ryan Raburn went 4-for-4 with two home runs, as the Cleveland Indians beat the Kansas City Royals 9-0.
With the win, the Tribe finished their road trip with a 5-4 record before returning to Cleveland on Tuesday.
Jimenez (1-2, 7.13) recorded his first win since August 9, 2012...
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Ubaldo Jimenez pitched into the eighth inning, Ryan Raburn hit two home runs and the Cleveland Indians pounded the Kansas City Royals 9-0 on Monday night to split their four-game series.
Raburn hit a three-run shot in the fifth inning and a solo homer in the eighth, and finished the night with four hits. Jason Kipnis also went deep to pace a suddenly potent...
Who are these Cleveland Indians hitters and what did you do with the group we’ve watched most of the season?
If we can take anything from this current Tribe three-game winning streak it is that this streaky team can be very dangerous when they get hot. The baseball season is a marathon, not a sprint. We are only a month in and we’ve already seen many peaks and valleys with our...
Player of the Game
The little Tiger that could has hit two home runs in each of the past two nights, giving him his second straight Player of the Game award. Ryan Raburn's first shot was a two run home run (the most popular variety on the night) while his second was a solo shot. Added together he has gone 7-8 with four home runs, 7 RBI and five runs scored. A fairly decent...
PAWTUCKET, RI – The Columbus Clippers lack of offense led them to their second loss of the series with the Pawtucket Rex Sox, falling, 5-1.
The Clippers went 7-for-33 on the game leaving 11 runners on-base and also went 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position—striking out ten times as a team. The bats ultimately were the difference in the game for both clubs.
On the opposing...

As many baseball players and umpires can attest to, games can run a little long and at times, you can lose track of what is going on.
During Monday night's Kansas City Royals/Cleveland Indians game, home plate umpire Paul Emmel in the fifth inning made a notable blunder.
With Cleveland's Lonnie Chisenhall at the plate, Emmel called an emphatic strike three to end the...

Tonight the Indians face an old friend.Five years ago, lefty Cliff Lee was enjoying a career season with the Indians and broke through as one of the games best pitchers when he won the 2008 American League Cy Young award. But less than a year after winning the award ,the Indians traded him to the Philadelphia Phillies for a package of four prospects...
