With the acquisition of two University of Texas - Pan American players, the North Adams SteepleCats have a good idea of what their roster will look like come next summer.

Shane Klemcke and Will Klausing bring the total to 26 players for the ‘Cats, but it’s a player that’s been committed for a while that will likely draw the eye of fans.

Headlining the 2012 group is a son of former Houston Astros player and seven-time All-Star selection Craig Biggio. His son Conor is a freshman at Notre Dame this year. He’s listed as an infielder and outfielder on the Fighting Irish’s website, but they see him as an outfielder, so that’s where he’ll concentrate his time with the SteepleCats.

"He’s going to be a popular guy, I think," general manager Sean McGrath said. "His name obviously means a lot to baseball fans and his father had a great career."

Tyler Gebler and Charlie Law, both pitchers at Rutgers University, will be familiar faces in North Adams. Gebler played for the ‘Cats in 2010 and Law preceded him in 2009.

"Those guys are obviously fan favorites," McGrath said. "A lot of people in the community are going to be happy to see them back as guests of the community back for the summer."
