I wish good will to everybody, but a guy who threw one more K than BB in 165 IP need to do a lot more than get a job to have a productive season.

It appears Steve Trachsel's marital problems may have forced his leave from the team on October 1st. When he returned after 12 days between starts, he was shelled against the Dodgers in the NLDS and then the Cardinals in the NLCS. Due to his performance in the playoffs, the Mets are not likely to re-sign him. Sarah, his wife, filed for divorce on Thursday.
Is it just me, or is Steve Trachsel always being kicked around for some reason? I hope he latches on with a team and can enjoy one last productive season without being shit on. He was 15-8 with a 4.97 ERA last season with the Mets.

That's true. I guess what I don't like about this situation is how it's ending. All year Mets fans said, I don't mind having Trachsel and he's a perfect end of the rotation guy. Then he gets shelled in the playoffs while in the middle of what turns out to be the end of his marriage and they drop him. Had Pedro and El Duque been healthy, he never even would have pitched in the playoffs. He does his best to get back to the team amidst personal chaos and they make it sound like he screwed them over for even trying. Basically all I'm hoping for is that he catches on with some team and shuts down the Mets at least once.

As a Mets fan, I don't really mind losing a guy whose teammates think quit in the NLCS. I also met him once at Spring Training and he was a bit of a douchebag. And for Steve, we'll leave it with a quote from Douglas Coughlin, "Everything ends badly, or else it wouldn't end."
