On Sunday (the 29th) my parents and I went to watch the GBraves play the Charlotte Knights at the Knights’ home stadium. It was a really fun game, until the eighth inning, anyway. That’s when the Knights tied the GBraves, and then in the ninth they broke the tie to win 3-2. Drat.
Anyway, we arrived at Knights Stadium about a half an hour before game time, mainly because I am an autograph hunter. Apparently Sundays are great days to go to a Knights’ game, because there weren’t very many people there at all. And I’m happy to say that we were not the only Braves fans in attendance (my mom guestimates that about one fifth of the fans there were cheering for our GBraves). When we first got into the stadium, J.C. Boscan and Julio Teheran were the only players ou...

Sheets brings excellent arm, leadership to Braves
ATLANTA -- Ben Sheets doesnt want to talk about his surgically repaired elbow, his comeback or even his unexpected and amazing success in three starts with the Braves.
His hitting ability or inability is more like it -- is on his mind, and when something is swimming around his brain, theres little to stop it from coming out of his mouth.

Maholm calls Braves 'landing spot No. 1 for me'
Left-hander Paul Maholm is settling in with the Braves, a team he says was ''landing spot No. 1 for me'' if he had to be traded from the Cubs.
The Braves acquired Maholm and outfielder Reed Johnson from Chicago for right-handers Arodys Vizcaino and Jaye Chapman on Monday night. Maholm joined the Braves Wednesday. Johnson is starting in right field in Wednesday night...
Braves place RHP Hanson on 15-day disabled list
The Atlanta Braves placed right-hander Tommy Hanson on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday with a strained lower back.
Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez had said Hanson - who is 12-5 with a 4.29 ERA - would likely be given extra rest before his next scheduled start, but Monday night's trade with the Cubs for Paul Maholm made that move unnecessary.
Maholm will join the Braves on Wednesday...

New Cub Arodys Vizcaino
I was getting ready for bed last night when all these trades happened and I assumed I'd make it to bed at my bedtime. Then I saw Arodys Vizcaino's name surface as one of the two players the Cubs were getting in return for Reed Johnson and Paul Maholm. At that point I knew I was going to be up past my bedtime.
I had figured when we first heard of these players leaving,...
