FanHouse:
by Matt SnyderFiled under: Astros, Padres, NL Central, NL WestWe've heard of a rain delay in baseball. It happens occasionally -- in fact, pretty frequently this season. Something you don't quite see so often is the non-traditional, but still quite crowd-pleasing, bee delay. According to the Associated Press, Padres left-fielder Kyle Blanks began moving toward the infield. After an umpire went out to see what the problem was, all players were pulled off the field. Stadium security apparently cleared out several sections of fans as well. As I currently watch the delay on TV, there is a masked beekeeper on the field collecting the assailants after having unleashed several cans of bee-killer. What an odd, yet quite hilarious, scene.Swarming Bees Delay Astros vs. Padres originally appeared on Fanhouse MLB Blog on Thu, 02 Jul 2009 19:02:00 EDT . Please see our terms for use of feeds.
