Pro Sports Daily:
Precocious right-hander Trevor Bauer bobbed and weaved through his major-league debut Thursday, getting in and mostly out of trouble in his four innings of work in the Arizona Diamondbacks' 3-2 victory over Atlanta, a game Chris Young won with a home run in the top of the ninth inning. Bauer, the third player taken in the 2011 draft, gave up two runs, five hits and three walks before leaving for a pinch-hitter in the fifth inning. He threw 74 pitches in the sweltering 97-degree heat of Turner Field. Bauer, 21, walked three and hit one in a 30-pitch third inning, when Atlanta broke a scoreless tie on a double by Brian McCann. Bauer got out of a two-out, bases-loaded situation by getting Freddie Freeman on a fly out. The Braves took a 2-0 lead on a double, a sacrifice bunt and a sacrifice fly in the fourth, Bauer's last inning. "He started out throwing good. He had trouble walking guys," manager Kirk Gibson said. "He was on the field a long time. There wa...

Diamondbacks pitcher Trevor Bauer made his major league debut on Thursday night against the Braves, and he pitched pretty well. Bauer gave Arizona four quality innings and allowed only two earned runs on five hits. Despite falling behind early, he kept the D-Backs in striking position and allowed them to come away with a 3-2 victory. The only...
The Diamondbacks on Thursday officially added pitcher Trevor Bauer to the active roster, calling up the third overall pick in the 2011 draft from Triple-A Reno, and optioned third baseman Josh Bell to Reno in a corresponding move.
Bauer, who will be making his major league debut, had already been named as the starter for Thursday night's game against the Braves in Atlanta. At...
Arizona Diamondbacks prospect Trevor Bauer's first major league pitch will be one he never forgets -- for all the wrong reasons. There was nothing wrong with the pitch itself. In fact, it was a picture-perfect fastball that found the strike zone like any pitcher would dream about. What happened after the pitch though, was a different story. Wanting to save the memory of his first...
If Diamondbacks fans were looking for a dominant performance foretelling a future Cy Young Award from Trevor Bauer on Thursday (and the colossal buzz leading up to his major league debut would suggest they were), they probably came away disappointed.
Based on the astronomic expectations in place for the 21-year-old phenom's debut, it was a letdown -- four innings and a no decision...
Much-heralded, highly-touted right-handed pitcher Trevor Bauer made his major league debut on Thursday night when the Arizona Diamondbacks faced the Atlanta Braves. Overall, it was a decent performance, although not remarkable (4 IP, 5H, 3ER, 3BB, 3K). What was remarkable, however, was the two oddball scenes that played out leading up to and immediately after [...]
So that’s what Trevor Bauer does when warming up before the inning starts, but that’s only the end of it. He starts with ninja training… …then moves on to using bands… …and ends with “The Karate Kid” impersonations
It’s probably true that basically any idiot can capture and render into GIF form video footage of a few pitches from Trevor Bauer‘s much-anticipated major-league debut on Thursday. Only one such idiot, however, both (a) writes for FanGraphs and (b) has 15 free minutes on Friday evening.
This guy, is who.
So, without anything further in the way of preface, here are three select...
Trevor Bauer makes his Major League Debut tonight. Carson already wrote about it, and the coverage of his impending promotion has included months of conversation, including a movement to #FreeTrevorBauer. Bauer’s big league debut has been heavily anticipated and is now going to be heavily watched.
However, there’s another guy getting called up from the minors to join the...
1). Trevor Bauer ARI SP 3 IP 4.50 ERA 3 SO
His first outing wasn’t the most promising, but you have to give the guy some slack with it being his first career start. All signs point to him being a stud from here on out with loads of strikeouts for your fantasy staff.
2). Brandon Belt SFG 1B/OF .259 AVG 17 R 4 HR 29 RBI 4 SB
Belt has been hot of late hitting four home runs in...
Fans in Chicago and fantasy owners eagerly awaited the arrival of Anthony Rizzo to Wrigley Field. The former San Diego prospect obliterated Triple-A pitching all season long, so expectations were high and a city-wide countdown trumpeted the arrival of his "Super Two" eligibility date. I was waiting for a glitter ball to drop at Sears Tower. I'm sorry. That's now...
The Arizona Diamondbacks called up starting pitcher Trevor Bauer from the minor leagues, but I don’t see him as a must-add in mixed league formats. Bauer lasted just four innings in his first start against the Atlanta Braves, allowing five hits and walking three while throwing 74 pitches. Bauer struggled with his control in the minor leagues with 48 walks in 93 innings and that...
