In my last article, I covered the top three free agent fits for the Detroit Tigers: Kelly Johnson, Aramis Ramirez, and Jose Reyes. Now let’s look at some of the top trade targets the Tigers could go after. Martin Prado: I’m sure you’ve all heard the Delmon Young for Martin Prado trade rumors from a couple of weeks ago. You also may know my stance on this proposal. Martin Prado would make a great acquisition for the Tigers, and would presumably take over at second base, although he has experience at third and in left field in his career as well, which are all positional needs for the Tigers. It will take more than Young to pry Prado from the Braves, but if they were to throw in a middling prospect and take on some of Young’s salary, it might be worth it to the Braves and the Tigers.
