Former Fresno State Bulldogs’ pitcher Tanner Scheppers is one of five finalist for the last spot on the 2013 American League All-Star Team. The former Bulldog is now the Texas Rangers primary setup man. Scheppers is up against relievers Steve Delabar of the Toronto Blue Jays, Joaquin Benoit of the Detroit Tigers, Koji Uehara from the Red Sox and the Yankees’ David Robertson. The Final Vote program allows fan’s to vote on MLB.co and on the respective teams’s website. The 6-foot-4 right-handed releiver averages 96 mph on his fastball and can occasionally reach 100 mph with a nasty slider to go with the heat. In 2013 Scheppers is 5-1 with a miniscule 1,84 ERA. The final voting comes to a close this Thursday.  Fans can vote via Twitter for the last six hours of voting.Tweet
