The Kansas City have signed free agent Miguel Tejada.Miguel Tejada
Tejada signed a minor league deal with a spring training invitation. He did not appear in the majors during the 2012 season.
He last played during the 2011 season with the San Francisco Giants. In that season, he had a .239 batting average in 343 plate appearances.
He will be able to compete for a job on the Royals Opening Day roster.

Outfielder Endy Chavez has agreed to a minor-league deal with the Kansas City Royals, CBSSports.com reported. Chavez, 34, hit .301 in 83 games with the Texas Rangers in 2011, but he hit just .203 in 64 games for the Baltimore Orioles in 2012. He also hit just .147 in 15 games at Triple-A in 2012.

The Kansas City Royals have signed outfielder Endy Chavez to a minor-league deal, Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports.
Chavez signed a $1.5mm deal last offseason with the Orioles, but was designated for assignment in August. During his time with the Orioles, Chavez hit .203/.236/.278 with 32 hits and 3 stolen bases. in 169 plate appearances.
