M’s Open In Oakland
Opening Day vs. A’s the defending AL West champs, who will be in the lineup you ask?
Spring in the air, sunshine and the smell of sunflower seeds cover the field as the Seattle Mariners prepare for game 1 of 162. At least, the weather will probably be this nice in Oakland for day one, so it will be a great way to start the season.
The summer may bring changes...

Seattle Mariners – Predicted Finish: Fourth Place, AL West
The Mariners threw their name in the hat with some big names this offseason (notably Josh Hamilton), but as of this moment, the 2013 version of the Mariners will look a lot like the 2012 team did.
Unfortunately for the fans of the Pacific...

Mike Morse Mariners: Fantasy Spin of Trade to Seattle
Photp Courtesy of Flickr user MudflapDC Naturally, during the week where we are doing our American League West Previews, a trade involving two of the teams in the division took place. Player Profile #151: Michael Saunders | OF | SEA
In his first 204 MLB games, Michael Saunders couldn’t quite figure it out. He slashed .196/.263/.306 combined with a 28.3 K% and 8.5 BB%; that’s the profile of an overmanned batter. In 2012, Saunders finally started to show signs of finally figuring out MLB pitching as he slashed .247/.306/.432, which is not that impressive, but his K rate dipped to 23.9%.
On top of all that...

Fast Reaction: Michael Morse To Seattle in 3 Team Deal. Great Move For The M’s (Updated)
Breaking now is a three team deal that sends slugger Michael Morse to the Seattle Mariners, catcher John Jaso to the Oakland A’s and single A pitcher AJ Cole to the Washington NAtionals. The Nats traded Cole to the A’s last winter in the Gio Gonzalez deal so clearly there’s something they liked about the righty who had a near 7 ERA in high A ball last season.

Appreciating John Jaso
John Jaso isn’t much of a household name. A year ago, he was traded for felon-turned-reliever Josh Lueke, as the Rays decided that Jaso’s deficiencies rendered expendable. The Mariners picked him up as a depth piece, and then Eric Wedge buried him on the bench to start the season, as he watched Miguel Olivo and Jesus Montero do most of the catching at the start of the season...
