The All Star Game Has Lost it's Magic

JackBam's Blog:
The Midsummer Classic is not what it used to be. Years ago before the game "counted" and before interleague play, I would look forward to the excitement of the American League taking on the powerful National League. As a Yankees fan in New York, it was always a treat to get together with my friends who were Mets fans to watch the game. The chance that we would get to see Ron Guidry face Lee Mazilli or Craig Swan take on Thurman Munson was always the highlight. The anticipation was wonderful.
Interleague play has robbed us of those times. Now, if Alex Rodriguez faces off against Billy Wagner, we get to see a stat that says "A-rod is o for 1 this year against Wagner." Something magical is lost.
