Gavin Floyd pitched well enough last night to get the White Sox a much-needed win. Since the second half started the White Sox have had trouble finding the win column. The win didn’t come easy for Floyd, he had control problems giving up 3 runs on six hits and walked 6 hitters. Only two runs given up by Floyd were earned. The White Sox are only one game behind the Tigers in the A.L. Central and three games ahead of the Indians.
It was Paul Konerko who got the Sox offense going with a three runs shot in the first inning to give the White Sox a 3-1 lead over the Twins. Adam Dunn and Alex Rios both added tow run homers in the third that put the White Sox up 7-2. That would be all the offense the White Sox would find last night, it was all they need to beat the Twins and get back into their winning ways, they beat the Twins 7-4.

The Chicago White Sox picked up Brett Myers in a trade with the Houston Astros last week, but he will serve in the eighth inning role and not as the closer limiting his value in A.L. only leagues. Addison Reed owners should feel confident that their guy will see the majority of save chances the remainder of the season unless he implodes at some point. Myers is due to become a free...
