The Colorado Rockies sign Geno Espineli

The Rockies have signed 28-year old lefty reliever Geno Espineli to a minor league deal. Espineli pitched in 53 games (0 starts) in AAA-ball last season and he was 5-5 with 12 saves, a 3.26 ERA and a 1.37 WHIP. He last pitched in the majors in 2008 with the Giants. He has pitched in 15 games (0 starts) in his major league career and he is 2-0 with a 5.06 ERA and a 1.56 WHIP. Espineli will get a shot next spring to win a spot in the Rockies’ bullpen.
