Bad News Bombs
Well the Mariners just shat another one away, thanks to a pair of defensive errors from Jack Wilson. This a day after they dropped a close one because Josh Saunders couldn’t catch a fly ball to center field.
These games demonstrate the primary problem for this year’s M’s: players who are not good at their jobs.
Piggybacking on the epic **** This Team rant of last week, the middle of this lineup is one of the worst I’ve ever seen. 3-4-5-6-7 today were Bradley-Cust-Smoak-Jack Wilson-Brendan Ryan. Only Smoak deserves to be in the Major Leagues. I mean, if we cut any of those other guys today, would anyone pick them up for the league minimum?
Jack Cust got two hits today to raise his average to .200. If he finishes the year about .250 I’ll eat my underwear.
I could write a Master’s Thesis on how Eric Wedge is mediocrity personified. But at least this team will Respect The Game by losing 100 games the right way.
They have successfully ruined starts by Pineda and Bernandez in consecutive days. Get used to it fellas.
