Here is who I see staying and leaving out of this bunch: Russell Branyan: 35-year old lefty swinging 1B Russell Branyan played in 37 games for the Angels last year and he was 12 for 65 (.185 avg, .699 OPS) with 7 runs scored, 4 homers, 12 RBIs and 2 stolen bases. He played in 68 games overall for the Angels & Diamondbacks and he was 25 for 127 (.197 avg, .665 OPS) with 11 runs scored, 5 homers, 14 RBIs and 2 stolen bases. PREDICTION: LEAVING Fernando Rodney: 34-year old righty reliever Fernando Rodney pitched in 39 games (0 starts) for the Angels last year and he was 3-5 with 3 saves, a 4.50 ERA and a 1.69 WHIP. Rodney lost his closer’s job early in the season to Jordan Walden, so the Angels don’t have much use for him.
