Picture Courtesy of @MetsPolice Well the New York Mets are trying their best, to get not only their players voted into the All-Star Game this year, but to help out other players as well. Nick Markakis is, in my opinion, a very talented Right Fielder for the Baltimore Orioles. I think with a big season, he could certainly be an All-Star for the American League. He has never made it before and the Glen Cove native is getting help from his hometown team. Unless the people who run the Mets website know something that we all don’t, Nick Markakis is not playing for the Mets. I also don’t think the Orioles are trading him to the Mets, for now. I would be thrilled, unless they give up a lot, to have him become a Mets OF and would happily vote for him to be an All-Star. But this just seems to be another #LOLMets thing. But, in all honesty, it was nice of them to support a local ballplayer to play the game back in New York. Good for you Mets! What’s Happened To Josh Edgin?

What happened to the Josh Edgin who came up and immediately became one of the more reliable and dominant relievers out of our bullpen last year? As if his his 10.80 ERA and 1.97 WHIP in 10 appearances wasn’t bad enough, I took a quick glance at his splits and it really showed me how bad things really have gotten for Edgin since last season. Versus LH Batters – 368 Versus...

Marcum Starts, Edgin Demoted, Mets Look To Get Back To .500: Mets Lineup V. Phillies - April 27, 2013

The Mets announced this morning that to make room for Shaun Marcum on the Major League roster, Josh Edgin was demoted...not to Las Vegas to join the 51's, but to Binghamton (AA). The clubs thinking was to drop him 2 levels so that he can get the much needed work to correct his problems. Edgin has been huge disappointment this year after a promising start late last season; his fast ball has

Mets Fans, Band Together To Alter All-Star Game Voting!

Year after year we argue about how this player or that player deserved to be the All-Star Game starter and not the inferior player who got voted in by the fans. It’s generally become a popularity contest rather than a vote for who has been the most deserving player. I understand that MLB tries to get the fans involved in as many ways as possible. It’s a great public relations...

Is Terry Collins The Reason Why Josh Edgin Lost His Edge?

Updated on 4/26 I got an interesting email from Kevin (K Maxx) this morning who asked, “if Terry Collins is so concerned about Josh Edging being overworked, why does he keep overworking him?” I did a quick check and was shocked to see that Edgin made 75 appearances last season between the Mets and the minors. That would have placed him tenth in the NL. The 75 appearances was...

New York Mets latest team turning to Groupon to spark ticket sales

Prior to the start of the 2013, the Marlins organization received a buncha laughs when they put season opener tickets on sale via Groupon, an online deal-of-the-day website. Well, they aren’t the only NL East team failing to bring the fans in early this year, as the New York Mets are also trying to lure fans to CitiField with a Groupon of their own. With the season just about a...

Orioles' Tsuyoshi Wada nearing rehab assignment

Baltimore Orioles manager Buck Showalter told reporters -- including Rich Dubroff of CSN Baltimore -- that left-hander Tsuyoshi Wada is nearing a minor league rehab assignment. “He’s had no setbacks yet, so that’s really good to see,” Showalter said. “I like the way he’s progressing and presenting himself as an option. That’s encouraging.” Wada...

The Birth Of El Dramático

I felt so good after last night’s game that I decided to write two posts. This begins my official campaign to nickname Jordany Valdespin. It’s a great feeling to hit your first home run of the season. That’s not enough for Valdespin though. He has to hit a walk-off home run. Yeah, that should be good enough for ‘Spin, right? Wrong. His first home run of the season has to...
