With three games already in the win column and being on the verge of a four-game sweep of the Dodgers in Los Angeles for the first time EVER, the answer is a resounding yes.
Coming into this season the Mets starting rotation was not considered one of the better ones in the league. Johan Santana was coming off a season lost to injury due to shoulder surgery; Jon Niese and Dillon Gee were unproven commodities; and who the hell was RA Dickey?
Then early on Mike Pelfrey went down and out for the season with a bad elbow. And when Miguel Batista tried to fill his spot, the results were less than what one could have expected. Chris Young was brought back and rehabbing in the minors after shoulder surgery, and who knew if he’d even be able to contribute before the All Star break.
