TEAMS: Boston Red Sox, Chicago White Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers, Cleveland Indians
Trade bait
According to FOX Sports, the Boston Red Sox are seriously shopping fan favorite Kevin Youkilis, and he will be out of Boston soon. There are a number of teams in the mix, but among those, the Chicago White Sox and the Los Angeles Dodgers appear to be the front-runners. The White Sox and Red Sox have been in direct and heavy negotiations, but the Red Sox may want to trade Youkilis to a National League team to avoid facing him in the playoffs or during a playoff run. The Dodgers could plug Youkilis into the third base spot immediately. Also in the mix are the Cleveland Indians, but the Indians have limited resources to give the Red Sox. The Braves have recently scouted Youkilis, but what their take on his current skills is unknown. There may be other teams to jump into the mix, but what is clear is that Youkilis is going somewhere soon.
Kevin Youkilis is currently batting .225 with four home runs in 41 games.
