Apparently the five stages of grief come in the following order: 1.
Denial 2. Anger 3. Bargaining, 4. Depression. 5. Acceptance.
Seems we've been cycling through all five stages in no particular order since the final out of NLDS Game 5.
Up above, a screen cap (via FOX) of the first pitch of Game 1 of the 2012 NLCS. Madison Bumgarner pitching to Jon Jay. Wait, there's a problem here: Shouldn't that be Bumgarner pitching to Jayson Werth?
Quick, someone get on the phone with Bud Selig and the suits at MLB. Theres's been a terrible mistake! The wrong team is playing the Giants in Game 1 tonight?
Still can't believe it. Looks like we're back to the first stage all over again.

Hunter Pence could have a future as a pastor. Since Game 3 of the National League Division Series, the Giants outfielder has delivered inspirational pregame messages to teammates in a group huddle. The team credits Pence's sermons to rallying back from a 0-2 hole against the Reds. Giants third-base coach Tim Flannery lauded Pence's speeches and documented some of the emotional...
Tim Lincecum is set to start Game 4 of the NL championship series for the San Francisco Giants on Thursday, as long as he's not needed in relief for Monday night's Game 2.
Manager Bruce Bochy said before the game that Lincecum told him he felt fine to pitch again Monday after throwing two hitless innings in Sunday night's 6-4 Game 1 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals. But...
San Francisco Giants second baseman Marco Scutaro left Game 2 of the NL championship series after five innings because of an injured left hip, the result of an earlier hard slide by Matt Holliday.
The Giants said Scutaro was undergoing X-rays Tuesday night.
Holliday singled in the first inning for the St. Louis Cardinals and then barreled into Scutaro while breaking up a double...
The boos rained down as loud as any heard in this postseason, and that includes those heaved in Alex Rodriguez's direction. These boos were reserved for Matt Holliday, though. The St. Louis Cardinals' outfielder slid hard into second baseman Marco Scutaro of the San Francisco Giants in the first inning of last night's game. He was making a baseball play - trying...
Listen, I understand why Giants manager Bruce Bochy is upset.
The Cardinals' Matt Holliday slid late into Giants second baseman Marco Scutaro, injured Scutaro's left hip, forced him to eventually leave the game. If Scutaro is unable to return for Game 3, this issue will only become bigger, and the hostilities might only grow.
That said, all those livid with Holliday should...
A pair of teams familiar with making historic comebacks will meet Sunday night in San Francisco when the Cardinals and Giants play Game 1 of the National League Championship Series at AT&T Park.
The Cardinals reached the NLCS by overcoming a 6-0 deficit in Friday's Game 5 in Washington, scoring four runs in the ninth inning to complete the biggest comeback in a winner-take...
Marco Scutaro answered Matt Holliday's hard takeout with a big hit of his own to help the San Francisco Giants end their home slide.
Scutaro hit a two-run single in San Francisco's four-run fourth inning to help the Giants get their first home win this postseason, 7-1 over the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday night that tied the NL championship series at one game apiece.

SAN FRANCISCO -- Carlos Beltran is used to having success in the postseason. Just don't expect him to know why. Beltran's 14th home run in 29 career playoff games was the key to the St. Louis Cardinals beating the San Francisco Giants 6-4 in Sunday's Game 1 of the best-of-seven National League Championship Series. "It's hard for me to explain," said...
Just like the Major League Baseball season is long, a seven game playoff series is also long. There is time to lose, time to regroup, and time to recover and win. But... all the evidence suggests the National League Championship Series just got shorter for the San Francisco Giants with their 6-4 loss to St. Louis in the opening game. You can point to the Giants' NL Division Series...

SAN FRANCISCO -- Home, sweet home. Finally. The San Francisco Giants walked off the field at AT&T Park victorious for the first time this postseason on Monday, and just in the nick of time. Neither the Giants nor the Cardinals made anything look easy in the NLDS. After losing the first two games at home, the Giants handed the Reds...
Left-hander Madison Bumgarner will pitch Game 1 of the NL championship series at home Sunday against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Manager Bruce Bochy chose right-hander Ryan Vogelsong as his Game 2 starter for Monday.
The Giants waited out the ending of the wild-card Cardinals' thrilling comeback at Washington on their team plane in Cincinnati before heading home to the Bay Area...
