Toronto Blue Jays LF Eric Thames made his first homer of the season a long one in the third inning of Tuesday's 2-1 loss at Baltimore, a blast to right that landed on Eutaw St., against RHP Tommy Hunter. It was the 34th time a visiting player to Camden Yards had hit a ball there. It was Thames' third extra-base hit of the season and his first home run since Sept. 22 and his second RBI of the season. He was 2-for-4 on the game to put his average at .273. But his first homer of the season was overshadowed by C Matt Wieters' fourth-inning home run that bounced off Thames' glove and went over the fence as he tried to make a leaping catch. "Off the bat I had a feeling it was going to be one that I had a chance to rob, and it was," said Thames, who crashed into the fence after a long run. "Didn't bring it down."
