Detroit Tigers outfielder Brennan Boesch left Wednesday's game against the Cleveland Indians with a right thumb injury.
Boesch, who originally injured his thumb earlier this season, was sent for X-rays after striking out in the first inning.
Don Kelly replaced Boesch, who entered the game batting .285 with 16 homers and 54 RBIs this season. The 26-year-old had just two hits in his last 18 at-bats.
