Then, after Jay Bruce walks in the bottom half, with the Reds out of position players, Arredondo picked up his first major league hit — in his first major league plate appearance! — to extend the inning. Finally, the much-maligned Edgar Renteria delivered the walkoff single, scoring Bruce and giving the Reds an exciting victory. –Fred Lewis went 3-4 with a double and a run scored. –Another strong start by Dontrelle Willis. The D-Train went six innings, surrendering just two runs on six hits.
