PLAYERS: Julio Teheran
TEAMS: Atlanta Braves

#6 Julio Teheran Atlanta Braves DOB: 1/27/1991 Pre-2011 Rank: 13 ETA: 2011 Teheran is the kind of guy every team loves to see atop their prospect list.  Good build, athletic, aggressive, good makeup.  Teheran is all of these and more.  He features a four-pitch arsenal with his fastball, coming in anywhere from 94-97 mph, somehow not the best pitch he has.  He also features a double-plus changeup with tremendous fade and plane. Kenshin Kawakami Going Home to Japan

The Atlanta Braves and Kenshin Kawakami‘s tumultuous relationship came to a conclusion after the 2011 season, when he became a free agent. Now, Kawakami is headed back to Japan to pitch for the Chunichi Dragons. The Braves signed Kawakami to a 3 year $23 million contract before the 2009 season. He really didn’t pitch poorly for the Braves. He was plagued by poor run...

Michael Bourn Player Projection No. 75

Key Stats: Michael Bourn has been one of the most consistent outfielders of the past three seasons and had been doing it under the radar - until last season that is. Heading into the 2011 season, Bourn was not ranked in the top 30 outfielders by ESPN, CBS, or Yahoo - despite being the only player to top 50 steals in both 2009 and 2010. Now Bourn is the only player in baseball that...

Can New Hitting Coaches Restore Braves Offense?

By Kent Covington In recent weeks, fans have frequently lamented the fact that the Braves haven’t done anything to upgrade their disappointing ’11 offense so far this winter. But that’s not necessarily true. Atlanta signed two guys by the names of Greg Walker and Scott Fletcher. They are the Braves’ new Hitting Coach and Assistant Hitting Coach, respectively. ...

Brian McCann Player Projection No. 74

Key Stats: Brian McCann has been the steady force at the catcher position over the last six years. He has finished with at least 20 home runs every season except one (he hit 18), he is a career .286 hitter, and has a career .844 OPS. He's also only going to be 28 this coming season. If you are going to go big early on catcher, it's nice that there's a consistent player...

Beyond The Top 100: Scouting Sean Gilmartin

We recently released our annual top 100 prospects list here at Scout.com, and to follow that up we will be providing team quality first-hand scouting reports on select prospects from that list over the course of the off-season. We'll also be breaking down some of the prospects who narrowly missed making the list, like Atlanta Braves' prospect Sean Gilmartin.

Heyward hopes hard work is rewarded

Much has happened from the time Jason Heyward reported for his second season at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex last February. The Braves outfielder understands that hard work is at the heart of a return to form.

Caravan gets Braves' 2012 off to a quality start

Through the Atlanta Braves Caravan, the team made a positive difference in the lives of some 200 youngsters on Saturday afternoon, when the Caravan kicked off its 2012 tour by making an appearance at the Jerry Clark Foundation's Fourth Annual Winter Baseball Camp.

Around the Horn: Outfield

Unable to find an outfielder with an impact bat, the Braves will enter the 2012 season hopeful that Jason Heyward and Martin Prado will bounce back from disappointing seasons to help center fielder Michael Bourn, who provide a bit of a spark when he was acquired in July.

Top Ten 2012 Fantasy Baseball Pitching Prospects (1-5)

By Adam McGill In fantasy baseball one of the most important parts to building a competitive team year in and year out, is getting quality prospects.  Every year there are guys who are supposed to be the next Johan Santana then fizzle out after a couple poor performances, but then there are guys like Clayton Kershaw who come in strong and never look back.  Below are my top ten...
