TEAMS: Washington Nationals, Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Mets, Milwaukee Brewers, Atlanta Braves
On a night when rookies Starling Marte and Matt Harvey stole the show with amazing debut performances, Washington Nationals center fielder Roger Bernadina made the top web gem with a diving snag in the bottom of the ninth inning.
With one out and one on, Nyjer Morgan laced the 2-2 pitch to left center field in what appeared to be an extra base hit. Bernadina ran full speed from his center field position, and tracked the ball down with a diving catch.
The Nationals won the game 8-2, with the Nats hang in seven earned runs on Yovanni Gallardo. With the win, the Nationals moved to 59-39, five games ahead of the Atlanta Braves in the National League East.
