YouTube The Tigers and White Sox got into a little dance party Thursday afternoon Tigers reliever Luke Putkonen threw a pitch behind White Sox shortstop Alexei Ramirez.  Putkonen’s pitch was in retaliation to the Tigers believing that White Sox starter Chris Sale threw up and in to Prince Fielder following a Miguel Cabrera home run earlier in the game. All you need to about the dance party is in this video: And while that was fine and dandy, this interview that Torii Hunter gave after the game was top notch. Reporters took turns asking Hunter questions about his take on Sale, Putkonen and the like. His responses: seal sounds. Three of them. Following by a “hot tamale.” Huh?! Pure gold.

Torii Hunter nearly hit by HR ball thrown back onto field (Video)

Your browser does not support iframes. Detroit Tigers right fielder Torii Hunter was able to avoid being hit by a home run ball thrown back onto the field, by one of his own fans, during Thursday's game at Comerica Park. After Chicago White Sox batter Alejandro de Aza hit a home run into the right field stands in the top of the eighth, the fan decided on making the...

(VIDEO) Torii Hunter’s Hysterical Post Game Interview

Most professional athletes hate doing post game interviews, it’s just the way it is. But every so often you find an athlete that likes to have fun with the reporters, and Torii Hunter, the Detroit Tigers outfielder, is one of those athletes. After Miguel Cabrera hit a home run off of White Sox ace Chris Sale in yesterday’s game, Sale threw up and in on the Tigers next hitter...

Torii Hunter had a bizarre post-game interview on Thursday

The Detroit Tigers and Chicago White Sox were involved in a little bit of beanball action on Thursday in Detroit. Tigers manager Jim Leyland and relief pitcher Luke Putkonen were both ejected from the game after Putkonen threw behind White Sox shortstop Alexei Ramirez in the sixth inning following a grand slam. After the game, Tigers veteran outfielder Torii Hunter conducted this...

Torii Hunter gives funny interview after Tigers-White Sox brawl (Video)

Your browser does not support iframes. Detroit Tigers manager Jim Leyland was as angry as you will ever see him during his team’s bench-clearing brawl against the Chicago White Sox on Thursday night. For those who missed it, you can see video of the melee here. It all started in the bottom of the fifth [...]

Torii Hunter on Tigers-White Sox benches clearing

Here's what happened: Your browser does not support iframes. Here's how Torii Hunter reacted - if Rasheed Wallace's "both teams played hard" post-game interview was translated into noises, it'd probably sound like Hunter's:  Your browser does not support iframes. Benches Clear in Tigers-White Sox Game After Luke Putkonen Throws Pitch Behind Alexei Ramirez (Video)

It’s entirely possible that Luke Putkonen just lost grip of his pitch, leading it to sail behind Alexei Ramirez at the plate, but probably not. Whatever the motive may be, though, Ramirez was none too pleased with the pitch delivered during the sixth inning of the Tigers-White Sox game at Comerica Park on Thursday afternoon. The White Sox shortstop made a few steps toward Putkonen...

Game 2013.93: Rangers at Tigers

51-41, 1st place, 2.5 games ahead of Cleveland. Very good win last night. Only a couple things marred the enjoyment: 1. Will someone please explain why Miggy didn’t catch the foul ball that dropped 10 feet away from him, and am I making too big a deal out of it? 2. What Ortiz did to the Tigers in relief of Grimm would have been less amusing without a 7-2 lead. Torii Hunter, aptly...

Benches clear in Tigers-White Sox game

Detroit reliever Luke Putkonen threw a pitch behind Chicago's Alexei Ramirez, and both benches and bullpens emptied in the top of the sixth inning of Thursday's game between the Tigers and White Sox. An inning after Chris Sale threw high and inside to Tigers star Prince Fielder, the trouble occurred. Ramirez started toward the mound after nearly being hit, pointing at Putkonen...

Luke Putkonen Ejected for Throwing at Alexei Ramirez; Jim Leyland Tossed, Too

Once again, the Detroit Tigers tried to retaliate after a fastball up and in one of their stars. And once again, they were punished for their decision. Rick Porcello recently received a five-game suspension (which he started serving Thursday and will not cause him to miss any starts) for hitting Tampa’s Ben Zobrist, one day after Fernando Rodney and Miguel Cabrera exchanged words...

Game 2013.92: Rangers at Tigers

50-41, 1st place, 2.5 ahead of Cleveland. Onward and upward after a series against the White Sox that was, shall we say, insulting. Now come the Texas Rangers, a formidable opponent that matches up favorably against the Tigers just about any way you look at it. The optimist’s view would be that this is one of those rise to the occasion opportunities. Ah, the bullpen. When will...

Leyland ejected after fracas

DETROIT-- Tigers manager Jim Leyland and reliever Luke Putkonen were ejected in the sixth inning of Thursday's game after both benches and bullpens emptied onto the field. The cause of the fracas was Putkonen's throw behind White Sox shortstop Alexei Ramirez after Josh Phegley hit a grand slam off starter Anibal Sanchez. Ramirez immediately had to be held back by catcher...
