That was ugly. Again. Two straight games the Rangers have failed to hit and aren't getting the same pitching they've had early this season.
Discuss:
• Start of homestand. It's only two games, but both have been ugly. Rangers seem like they are swinging early in counts and not having many productive at-bats. What does it take to get the offense going?
• Angels win. So the Rangers have lost 1 1/2 games the last two days and are 3 up.
• Doug Mathis. He walked three and gave up some long hits.
• Defense. The Rangers have committed an error in seven straight games. Tonight, it was Elvis Andrus bobbling a ball that probably could have started a double play to end the second inning.
• Ian Kinsler. He batted .243 for May and is batting less than .240 so far for June. Is it a matter of patience at the plate or just a funk?
