The Toronto Blue Jays have been very busy Thursday. They have purchased the contracts of right-handed pitcher Ramon Ortiz and right-handed pitcher Mickey Storey from their Triple-A minor league affiliate. To make room for the pair of pitchers they designated reliever Edgar Gonzalez for assignment and optioned left-handed pitcher Ricky Romero to Buffalo as well. Both newcomers will provide depth for the Toronto bullpen.
