J.P. Arencibia (middle) Believe me folks, I am trying to be positive about this year’ Toronto Blue Jays, but after watching their season opener, it’s hard not to get discourage. The Jays put last year’ National League Cy Young winner, R.A. Dickey on the mound in their first game of the season against Cleveland.  Jay’s manager, John Gibbons said in the post game press conference that he thought that Dickey played well on the mound.  I’m not too sure about that, however, you can’t blame it all on Dickey for the 4-1 loss against the Indians.  The Jay’s offence was flat, managing to only get four hits during the game.  Not good. The second game was a much better effort.  Jose Bautista hit a home run in the bottom of the ninth inning and tied it 2-2 to push the game into extra innings.  Unfortunately, the Indians took the 3-2 lead for good at the top of the tenth inning with a home  run. Jay’s starting pitcher, Brandon Morrow had a fairly good outing, giving up six hits, one earned run, two walks, and struck out eight batters.  ”He (Morrow) was really good,” said Gibbons after the  game. Catcher, J.P. Arencibia was the hero in the final game of the three game series against Cleveland.  He went three for four at the plate, including two home runs in a 10-8 Blue Jays victory, their first win of the 2013 season. “I don’t care what level of baseball you’re in, the first one (win) is the toughest one to get,” said Gibbons in the post game press conference, “Cleveland’s playing good right now.” Arencibia wasn’t the only one that had a good night.  Edwin Encarncion got three RBIs during the game. Starting  pitcher, Mark Buehrle didn’t have a good outing on the mound, though.  He gave up seven hits, six earned runs, one walk, and struck out only four batters. The Blue Jays  kick off a three game weekend series against the Boston Red Sox tonight.
