According to Joel Sherman of the New York Post, a trade of New York Mets star third-baseman David Wright seems ‘inevitable.’

Said Sherman:

He [Wright] is trying to re-establish his value, hoping to capitalize on those nearer Citi Field fences to return to the land of 30 homers, 100 RBIs and a .300 average. The irony is that will, if anything, make him more likely to be traded either this July or, more probably, after the Mets pick up his $16 million option for 2013.

Just where Wright would land is yet to be seen.

Perhaps the most likely landing spot would be in Los Angeles. Ever since the departure of Troy Glaus, the Angels have been searching for a power hitting third-baseman for years. If Mark Trumbo is unable to make the move from first to third, the Angels would continue to have a hole at the position.

In addition, it is well known that Mets GM Sandy Alderson covets Angels center-fielder Peter Bourjos. And with the emergence of 20-year-old Mike Trout, Bourjos may be expendable.
