Travis Buck has signed a minor league deal with the Cleveland Indians, with an invite to spring training. Buck is 27 years old and his career has been slowed by injuries over the past few years. He was in the opening day outfield for the Oakland Athletics for the past three seasons. Overall he has spent four years in MLB, hitting .250 in 170 games, with 18 homers and 71 runs batted in. The only year he played more than 38 games in the majors was his rookie year when he played 82, hitting .288 in 2007. Buck has been going back an forth between the A’s and their AAA farm team in Sacramento whenever healthy enough to play. In four seasons in AAA Sacramento he has hit .284 in 141 games hitting 10 homers and driving in 64. Fans in the Midwest might remember him playing in Kane County in 2005, his first year in pro baseball. In 32 games he hit .341.
