Found September 12, 2013 on Monkey with a Halo:
Angels starter C.J. Wilson seemed to be having one of those nights where he just couldn't command the strike zone. The lefty sweated through seven laborious innings, walking four Blue Jays, yet managing to strike out six while holding the birds to just three earned runs.    His offense picked him up, touching up knuckle-baller R.A Dickey for seven hits and another four runs. Mark Trumbo and Josh Hamilton, the suddenly awakened two-headed beast/monster, continued to tattoo baseballs all over the Rogers Centre. Trumbo clobbered his career-high 33rd home run of the season to open up the Halo scoring, and Hamilton added three more hits and a walk.   Not to be forgotten is Kole Calhoun, who drove in the go-ahead run in the eighth off Jays reliever Steve Delabar. The right-fielder hit a sacrifice fly to send Mike Trout across the plate for the 101st time this season; more on that later.   Dane De La Rosa and Ernesto Frieri sealed the deal in the eighth and ninth innings. The Angels have now won 13 of their last 20 games.   Angels 5, Blue Jays 4   -----   Game Notes   -- Mike Trout continues to score runs. After scoring his 100th run tonight, he became the first Angel since Troy Glaus 2000-2001. The kid is nuts.   -- Kole Calhoun has driven in 11 runs in his last 10 games. He is sporting a .394/.429/.606 triple slash in the month of September. Overall, the outfielder is at .291/.366/.496 in 127 at-bats. Fans might have to get used to the idea of possibly saying goodbye to Peter Bourjos this winter.   ------   Halo Hero of the Game     Kole Calhoun for delivering the decisive run.

Jonathan Van Eaton Interviews with AngelsWin.com

Interview conducted by David Saltzer, AngelsWin.com Senior Writer One of the most interesting and compelling stories that I heard during my time with the Orem Owlz was that of Jonathan Van Eaton. How he came to pitch in the Angels organization was something out of a Hollywood script. I'll let him tell the story in his own words. It's a good thing that it all worked...

Angels activate 2B Kendrick off DL

The Los Angeles Angels activated infielder Howie Kendrick off the 15-day disabled list before Tuesday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays. Kendrick has been out since Aug. 6 because of a hyperextended left knee. He landed awkwardly while trying to avoid a collision with teammate Collin Cowgill. Angels manager Mike Scioscia says he'll work Kendrick back in slowly, limiting...

Angels activate Howie Kendrick, will not play until Friday

The Los Angeles Angels welcomed back Howie Kendrick yesterday, but they will not yet pencil him into the lineup.  With the team completely out of contention, Mike Scioscia and the front office believe there is no reason to rush Kendrick back into the lineup.  Kendrick is expected to start Friday's series opener against the Houston Astros. Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com says...

Calhoun the hero again as Angels complete sweep of Toronto

This series must have the Blue Jays feeling like they were trapped in Groundhog's Day. As happened earlier in the series, the Halos coughed up an early lead only to rally back, take the lead and have the bullpen shockingly lock things down to preserve the victory. And, like before, it was Kole Calhoun leading the charge. This time he ginger-powered a solo shot off of J.A...

J.B. Shuck isn't the player you think he is

If you believe what the Angels are trying so hard to convince us of, J.B. Shuck is a very good player, perhaps even the AL Rookie of the Year! At the least he has been a brilliant diamond in the rough that Jerry Dipoto has unearthed. Such a great story! So scrappy! So gritty! So very gritty! Really it was manifest destiny for Shuck. There is nothing Angel fans love more than...

Analyzing the 2014 Angels schedule... for some reason

The 2014 Angels schedule has been released. YAAAAAAaaaaaayyyy??? Yay, right? We're supposed to be excited about this I think. I'm not entirely sure why. It is just a schedule and it doesn't have any real effect on our lives until nearly six months from now. MLB schedules aren't even inherently all that different from year to year now is there is wildly varying degree...

Dickey tops 200 innings, is outworked by Wilson

R.A. Dickey broke the 200-inning barrier for the third straight season, though he was disappointed not to prolong his streak of lengthy starts. Kole Calhoun hit a tiebreaking sacrifice fly in the eighth inning, C.J. Wilson won his eighth straight decision and the Los Angeles Angels beat the Toronto Blue Jays 5-4 on Wednesday night. Dickey had pitched at least six innings in his...
