Morneau joins club with just six other Twins
There was plenty for the Minnesota Twins to enjoy about Monday's one-sided win over the Cleveland Indians, but Justin Morneau's night has to be pretty high on the list of positives.
Morneau hit a pair of home runs and drove in a team-high four runs to help the Twins rout the Indians by a 14-3 final. It was Morneau's fourth multi-hit game in the past five days as he raised...
Morneau joins exclusive Canadian company with 200th homer
Justin Morneau became just the fourth Canadian-born player to hit 200 career home runs when he went deep twice Monday in the Twins' 14-3 victory at Cleveland. After struggling through injuries in 2010 and 2011 -- two concussions, nerve damage in his neck and a weak wrist that required surgery among them -- the feat meant more to Morneau than it would have before he missed 81...
Revere an unexpected star for Twins offense
It's the time of year when baseball has become stratified. Players have been traded from losers to winners. Teams have gone into sell mode and rent mode, dumping contracts and bringing in late-season help as they see fit.
Outcomes seem to be falling into place, and on a larger scale, maybe they are. But in Boston this weekend, the Twins made a point. They may have a losing record...
Joe Mauer takes foul ball to the throat
Next time you wake up with a scratchy throat, think of how Joe Mauer felt after taking this foul ball off his Adam’s Apple – or in this case, his Joe’s Apple Tuesday night off the bat of Indians outfielder Shelley Duncan.
Mauer stayed in the game. The Twins came back against Indians’ closer Chris Perez scoring three runs in the top of the ninth to win 7-5. In related...

Disconcerting info
Yesterday, Tsuyoshi Nishioka had a really rough day. 0/5 at the plate 2 errors in the field, one of them on the first grounder he saw back in the big leagues.Mostly, I just feel bad for him at this point. I don’t think he is dealing with a lack of talent, because he was steadily improving in Rochester, but some serious anxiety issues away from his native Japan.
Anyways, check...
Twins trade Valencia to Red Sox
The Boston Red Sox have acquired third baseman Danny Valencia from the Minnesota Twins or a minor league outfielder.
Minnesota will get Jeremias Pineda, who was playing in Class-A.
The deal was announced during the Twins-Red Sox game at Fenway Park on Sunday.
Valencia, 27, hit just .198 with two homers and 17 RBIs in 34 games this season. He was assigned to Triple-A Pawtucket...
