Minnesota Twins righthander Nick Blackburn left Sunday's game against the New York Yankees with a lateral forearm strain in his pitching arm.
Blackburn exited the contest in the second inning after walking the bases loaded. Twins trainer Dave Pruemer and manager Ron Gardenhire joined Blackburn on the mound. The hurler exited the contest shortly thereafter.
Righthander Anthony Swarzak relieved Blackburn and ended the Yankees' threat.
The 29-year-old Blackburn entered the contest with a 7-10 mark and 4.53 ERA.
