The Minnesota Twins have been targeting starting pitching
since the offseason began, and there was initially some thought that there
could be a reunion with right-hander Carl Pavano. However, while Pavano remains
available as a free agent, he “doesn’t appear to be a fit with the Twins,”
according to Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com.
Pavano is still currently a free...
MINNEAPOLIS Mike Pelfrey, the newest Minnesota Twins pitcher, is coming off Tommy John surgery on his right elbow. He's also switching to the American League for the first time after seven years in the National League.
Minnesota general manager Terry Ryan doesn't think either of those will limit Pelfrey from being a key member of the team's starting rotation in 2013...

According to Ken Davidoff of Newsday, the Mets have reached out the representatives of both Francisco Liriano and Carl Pavano in an effort to replace R.A. Dickey. Both pitchers are still available on the free agent market, and up until this point neither player had been linked to any teams recently.
Liriano, 29, started the 2012 season with the Minnesota Twins before being dealt...
With the Mets still on the hunt for an outfield, we received the following e-mail from Phil:
I can’t believe the Mets haven’t traded for Josh Willingham yet. After some injury issues he averaged .253/.350/.501 with 64 HRs the last two years. At worst, he’s slightly better defensively than Duda. I kept hearing the Twins would be looking for a #4 or 5 pitcher in return. Isn’t...
I'd be remised if I didn't go into some depth about Mike Pelfrey signing a one year deal with the Twins. Pelfrey is that guy that we've had so many discussions about regarding his upside. Was he an ace or not? It was reasonable to expect that the ninth overall pick could potentially be a front of the rotation starting pitcher. But the one chance Pelfrey had to step up...
