The Atlanta Braves have lost second baseman Tyler Pastornicky for the rest of the 2013 season with a torn left ACL.
Pastornicky, 23, was expected to see a lengthy look at second base with Dan Uggla on the disabled list for LASIK eye surgery. Instead the Braves will now be forced to play Paul Janish at second.
The injury occurred in Wednesday nights game when Pastornicky was involved in a collision with outfielder Jason Heyward on a popup.
Pastornicky is expected to be healthy and ready to go for the start of spring training.

The Atlanta Braves have lost several late-inning relievers this year, most to season-ending injuries, including Eric O'Flaherty and Jonny Venters. Luckily for Atlanta, this isn't the case with right-hander Jordan Walden, who's set to return from his thumb injury on Friday, according to Eric Single of MLB.com.
Yesterday, Walden told reporters that the bruise he...
Don’t look now, but Jason Heyward is back to having a quality season at the dish. He is not running like we saw last year and his power numbers are down, but his overall offensive performance is up and he is improving in the right areas.
For long term leagues, it’s a great sign that Heyward has started to hit coming out of the All-Star break. Even more specifically Heyward has...
