Nationals to Sell Eight-Pound 'StrasBurger' at Ballpark This Season in Honor of Pitcher Stephen Strasburg

As Stephen Strasburg's strikeout total rises this season, so will the cholesterol level of many Nationals fans. That's because Nats fans will now have an opportunity to purchase the new eight-pound StrasBurger at Nationals Park, according to The Washington Post. Yes, eight whole pounds. The burger, which will be sold in the stadium's "Red Porch" section, is...

Hot Stove Report: Dan Uggla

After years of having Dan Uggla hit homeruns against it’s starting pitching staff, the Atlanta Braves decided to add the muscle bound second baseman to their roster. In exchange for Uggla, the Braves sent utility infielder Omar Infante and relief pitcher Mike Dunn to the Marlins.  Although the Braves will miss Infante’s high batting average and flexibility as an infielder, the...

2012 Fantasy Baseball: Stephen Strasburg and the Washington Nationals starting rotation preview

Stephen Strasburg (credits below) The Nationals do not necessarily have a “sleeper” of a fantasy rotation, but it definitely can be sneaky good by the time the calendar hits October.  Who will occupy the fifth rotation spot is still being determined, but one-through-four in the rotation all have value when drafted properly. Starting at the top, Stephen Strasburg will have the...

Strasburg allows 2 HRs in 3rd preseason start

Washington Nationals righthander Stephen Strasburg pitched four innings and surrendered a pair of home runs in a spring training game Wednesday against Atlanta. Strasburg was touched for a two-run homer by Dan Uggla in the first inning and gave up a solo shot to Jason Heyward in the fourth. Making his third exhibition start, Strasburg allowed five hits, walked two and struck out...

Stephen Strasburg's stubborn self?

We're ready to move on from a very un-Straslike start by Baseball Jesus Wednesday night. His line: 4 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 2 BB, 1 K, 2 HR (video of Uggla's blast, and Heyward's which hasn't landed yet), 73 pitches, 8-2 groundouts-flyouts. Hit 99 on the gun, too. Dan Uggla feasted on The Strasburger yet again. What happened on Uggla's bomb? via Amanda Comak of the...

The Strasburger...8 lbs and all-beef

Anybody Hungry?((ht: dc-sports-bog))As we sit here at the OSG Global HQ, pondering out Ham and Cheese sandwich with sweet pickles we often wonder what it would be like to not have to worry about how much we eat. That's why the Washington Nationals announcement of the "Strasburger" at Nationals Park is so scary. According to the Nats PR department, this hunka, hunka burning...

Heyward hits grand Slam, Braves beat Astros

KISSIMMEE, Fla. (AP) -- Jason Heyward hit a grand slam off Wandy Rodriguez for his second homer in three games and Michael Bourn hit a two-run shot as the Atlanta Braves beat the Houston Astros 9-5 on Friday night. Tommy Hanson, making his spring debut after having his first start cut shot by rain, pitched three innings and gave up two runs, including a homer by Travis Buck. The...

Bryce Harper shaved his beard.

Rather than get hung up on a bad spring training start by Stephen Strasburg on Wednesday night against the Braves, let's focus on more positive things. Like, Bryce Harper returning to the lineup after spending time on the shelf with a left calf strain, and handling his surprise start in CF without incident (through six innings, anyway). Why CF, Davey? "He runs good. He’s...

Lidge: "Is Stephen Strasburg better than Roy Halladay? No...But he throws 103."

File this one under: What Brad Lidge means when he talks about talent. Earlier this week, Brad Lidge said in a MLB.com video that the Nationals were the most talented team he's ever been on. Of course, there was immediate backlash from Phillies fans: some took offense to it (check the comments here, for example), while others seemed indifferent. In any case, ESPN's...

Review: 'The Show' still swinging for the fences

No video game can duplicate the drama of the end of the 2011 Major League Baseball season. You remember: The historic collapse of the Red Sox. The Rays' late-inning recovery from a seven-run deficit on the last day of the season. The Cardinals coming back twice in game six of the World Series and eventually winning the trophy. It's still early in the 2012 season I'm...
