Venezuelans Anibal Sanchez, Omar Infante on edge after Wilson Ramos kidnapping

Anibal Sanchez had a couple of upcoming trips scheduled. He canceled one of them. Sanchez, who got married last Friday in Puerto Rico, will honeymoon with his new wife in Spain, but he won’t be returning to his native Venezuela in December as planned. The abduction of Nationals catcher Wilson Ramos put Sanchez and fellow Venezuelan Omar Infante on edge. Sanchez does not plan to return this offseason. “I canceled everything,” Sanchez said. “ If I don’t need to, I don’t go. I love my country. It’s beautiful. I want to be free, be comfortable. If I go there I need to be with a lot of bodyguards. That’s not free.” Infante continues to make his offseason home in Venezuela and will return.
