Your browser does not support iframes. On Saturday, the Reds needed a victory in the worst way possible against the Texas Rangers, after having gone all week without ending up on the smiling side of the scoreboard. Well, thanks to a clutch home run by catcher Devin Mesoraco in extra innings, Cincinnati finally recorded an elusive win, 6-4, over the Rangers. However, the big knock almost didn't happen. Watch as Mesoraco is originally tasked by manager Dusty Baker to bunt, but fails after fouling off a pitch to bring the count to 1-1. This is when Baker decides to let the youngster swing away and it paid dividends, as Mesoraco launched a high drive over the left field wall on the very next pitch. It marked the fourth home run of the season for Mesoraco.
