Jameson Taillon Gives Up 2 Homers in Win

Gerrit Cole had a rough go of it last night in Altoona, and now we see Jameson Taillon struggling a bit in his start on Wednesday afternoon. In five innings, Taillon gave up three runs on two home runs while walking a pair and striking out four. Obviously that's not a horrible line, but you don't like seeing your big time prospects give up home runs. His season ERA is at...

Michael McKenry, Phillie killer

Tonight’s win was crazy, but it was a win nonetheless.  It felt good to take a game in Philly.  James McDonald pitched well; not perfectly, but he got the job done.  Brad Lincoln was tonight’s savior out of the bullpen.  Michael McKenry continued his offensive tear, going 2-4 with 4 RBIs.  Offensively, he has more [...]

It’s not over yet

The bad news is tonight’s game was rough.  ”They outplayed us again tonight,” Clint Hurdle said after the game.  The Pirates left 17 runners on base, blowing far too many scoring opportunities.  Erik Bedard gave up 4 runs, and Juan Cruz gave up 1.  The Pirates’ first 2 hitters, Jose Tabata and Neil Walker, were [...]

They find a way to shake things off....
