After an emotional pre-game speech from soon to be Hall of Famer Chipper Jones, Melky Cabrera and the rest of the National League All-Stars put together a beat down on the American League, winning 8-0 last night for their third straight All-Star victory. Jones address the entire team before they took the field last night and impressed upon them how much of an honor it was for him to be playing with them in his 8th All-Star game in his last season in the bigs. Chipper is a class act and hopefully some of his All-Star teammates learned something from his speech last night.

Cabrera and the rest of the San Francisco Giants All-Star’s stole the show last night with Cabrera winning the MVP trophy while going 2 for 3 with a 2-run HR. Pablo Sandoval and Matt Cain also had good nights with Sandoval driving in 3 runs and Cain pitching 2 scoreless innings and getting the W. The 5 runs the Giants players produced were more than enough to beat the AL All-Stars themselves. The AL hitters put together 6 hits last night but weren’t able to put any runs on the board. Check out Chipper’s pre-game speech and Cabrera’s highlights below:
