Intentional Talk: Brian McCann
Email from MLBN:
I thought you might be interested in this humorous interview with Brian McCann on Friday’s “Intentional Talk.” Speaking via Ballpark Cam at Turner Field to Chris Rose and Kevin Millar, McCann discussed how much Chipper Jones is enjoying his last season, the pregame dance he does with Jones, and being poked in the eye by Michael Bourn during a high-five at home plate earlier this year.
Freddie's new slo-mo video:

And finally, the best thing to hit the internet this week:
Ricky emailed me the story of his inspiration and it's so great!
When I tried out for the MLB FanCave at the beginning of this year, my application video included some snippets of me singing goofy parody songs. It seemed like people dug it and personally it was a lot of fun f...
BEST OF MAXIM
Dan Uggla is showing signs of life.
He had a two-RBI game on July 30. There was another one on Aug. 4.
And then there was his two-hit game on Monday.
Uggla, to borrow an unflattering nickname from online commentators, is still Struggla, but he has a pulse.
For Braves fans, there is hope that he is emerging from another one of his funks and will add another potent bat for the...
Theyve been maligned, and deservedly so at times, but Braves relievers have done little wrong of late.
The Braves have been playing mix and match with the guys in the bullpen throughout this season, but theyve finally put together a Steady Seven. Im not ready to call them the Spectacular Seven yet, and especially not the overused Magnificent Seven. No, steady does it.
The Phils still can’t find ways to beat the Braves, as they once again fall to Atlanta, 6-1.
The Braves took the lead in the third as, with two men on, and with two men out, Freddie Freeman hits a two-run double, knocking in Michael Bourn, who had earlier walked, then stopped at second base on Martin Prado’s single, and Prado, who had just singled, giving the Braves a 2-0 lead...
PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Dan Uggla hit a tiebreaking three-run double in the seventh after Tim Hudson blew a five-run lead and the Atlanta Braves beat the Philadelphia Phillies 12-6 Wednesday night.
Ryan Howard's three-run homer off Hudson during a five-run fifth tied it at 6, but the wild card-leading Braves scored four runs after Antonio Bastardo (2-4) got the first two outs in...
Dan Ugga’s looks to be emerging from a deep and prolonged slump.
The Philadelphia Phillies are no longer the team to beat in the National League East and the Braves know it. They may not need to beat the Phillies, but that hasn’t stopped them from kicking the Phillies while they are down. Monday night’s win against the Phillies was the Braves’ 7th consecutive win against...
The pesky Braves just can't lose, can they? Other than last night's gem of a game from Hamels, the Braves have dominated the Phillies all season. Tonight, they showed great patience at the plate and got Kyle Kendrick to exit the game early, just to tear up the Phils' bullpen. In the rubber match of this series, Phillies fans were caught with their hands shielding their...
Cole Hamels five-hit the Braves as the Phils finally end their losing streak with Atlanta, winning 3-0.
The Phils took a quick 1-0 lead in the first as Dom Brown hits an RBI double, knocking in Jimmy Rollins, who had started the inning off with a double. Two batters later, with Brown still on second base, and now with one man out, Ryan Howard hits a two-run home run, his fifth home...
Final: Phillies 6, Braves 12.
WP: Chad Durbin (4-1, 3.07 ERA) LP: Antonio Bastardo (2-4, 5.45 ERA)
Tonight's game featured a series of highs-and-lows for the Philadelphia Phillies. The bottom of the 1st was positive in the fact that Jimmy Rollins picked up his 40th career leadoff home run, in which he homered off of opposing starter Tim Hudson to the first row in right field...
Kansas City Royals right fielder Jeff Francoeur helped himself to a fan's popcorn during Tuesday night's game at U.S. Cellular Field against the Chicago White Sox.
Francoeur chased a foul ball to the right field corner, and realized as he reached the stands that he couldn't get it. However, he also realized that he needed a snack and grabbed a few pieces of popcorn...
Having made all three of his starts on the road since getting called up, Matt Harvey is looking forward to making his Citi Field debut.
The 23-year-old rookie, though, appears to have a tough task at hand with the surging Atlanta Braves coming to town.
Coming off their first home win in over a month, the New York Mets try to avoid a sixth consecutive defeat to the Braves as these...
Atlanta Braves (63-47) vs. Philadelphia Phillies (50-60)
Tim Hudson (11-4, 3.45) vs. Kyle Kendrick (4-9, 4.45)
Time: 7:05 PM, Citizens Bank Park
Weather: Chance of thunderstorms, 88
Media: Twitter and Facebook
Kyle Kendrick appeared to find his place in the bullpen, but with the departure of Joe Blanton, he found himself back in the rotation. Although he only spent ...
JONESBORO — Arkansas State University-Jonesboro Chancellor Tim Hudson announced today that Director of Athletics Dr. Dean Lee will fill a vacancy in the University Advancement division as associate vice chancellor, effective immediately. He will work closely with vice chancellor Cristian Murdock as ASU gears up for an international fundraising effort.
Lee Judge’s blog, Judging the Royals is, well, interestimg. I would have titled it Mock Scout with Lee J., but, surprisingly, I was not asked for my thoughts on the matter. I always imagined my first FanGraphs post on Judge would be for NotGraphs, and I suppose there is still time for that. However, if one can look past the Ron Polk Point System (Hey, Alex Gordon finally passed...
NEW YORK (AP) -- Chipper Jones says his bed in a New York hotel has caused his back to tighten up, and he has been scratched from the Atlanta Braves' starting lineup against the Mets.
Jones said Friday that his back has gone bad in New York three or four times over his 19-year career yet he hasn't asked to change hotels. He hopes to play Saturday.
The Braves originally...
