I suppose you could get tired of honoring Vin Scully, but doubt it will ever happen. Scully, who was voted into the broadcasters wing of the Hall of Fame back in 1982, is scheduled to be given yet another honor Saturday night at the annual Professional Baseball Scouts Foundations Spirit of the Game gala. The scouts dinner is becoming a bigger and more eagerly anticipated event each year, called by USA Today MLBs version of the Academy Awards. Only maybe without any controversy over best director nominations. At Saturday nights event at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza, Scully will receive the Bud Selig Executive Leadership Award. It will be presented by baseball's commissioner himself. Yeah, thats the kind of clout this dinner carries.
