Watch: Juan Soto signs ball for fan during Yankees vs. Marlins game
Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

Juan Soto seems to have already found his groove in New York. The 25-year-old outfielder has so far impressed many people with his performances and has become a fan favorite. He is now trending on social media for a class act during the game against the Marlins on Monday.

The three-time All-Star was seen signing off autographs. While that is common thing to do, very few do it in the middle of a game. A video of Juan Soto signing a baseball for a fan in the midst of an at-bat has now gone viral on social media.

The incident is reported to have taken place just before the start of the game. Perhaps Soto thought he had some time before the pitch from Nestor Cortes. A fan was seen asking for his autograph an later threw a ball and a marker to the Dominican Republic star.

He would take a quick glance at the pitcher’s mound before signing and give it back to the fan which led to huge cheers from the other fans present around the supporter who was fortunate to receive this souvenir. After the game Soto admitted he was a little hesitant to do that as he had very little time.

I saw the clock and I was thinking, hesitating, because the game was supposed to start at 6:08. So I had two minutes. I tried, turned around and Nestor was almost moving, making his pitch. I was like, ‘Oh my God.’ He got me pretty quick. Juan Soto said.

Juan Soto hits first Yankee home run at Yankee stadium

After winning the hearts of the fans through his goodwill act early on, Juan Soto later hit his first home run in a Yankee shirt at the Yankee Stadium. This home run lead the Yanks to another huge 7-0 win against the Marlins.

The Marlins have not had a great start to the 2024 season and headed into this game with a 1-9 record. On the other hand, the Yankees had been breathing fire and went into this game with eight wins from the first ten games.

Once again, the Marlins were dominated as the Yanks took a 3-0 after a home run from Anthony Volpe in the fourth inning. Moments later, Soto delivered the killer blow as he slammed a three-run bomb of starting pitcher Jesus Luzardo to make it a 6-0 game.

This is however, not the first time Soto has homered at the Yankee stadium. Prior to the 2024 season, he had hit four home runs in six games at this iconic venue as an opposition player. The Yankees will now be aiming for a fourth successive series win on Tuesday to stay red hot this season.
