WATCH: Dogs on field delay Astros game at Minute Maid Park

The Houston Astros had a bit of a hitch during Sunday's Dog Day at Minute Maid Park as the game was delayed for a few minutes when some stragglers from the pregame "Pooch Parade" wouldn't leave the field. Your browser does not support iframes. Since the stadium has a retractable roof, the dog delay represents one of the few game delays in the history of Minute...

Blah, Blah, Blah; Angels win over Astros 6-2

I simply could not care less about this game. This is what it must have felt like to be a Pirates fan for the last 20 years. What we have here is a meaningless game between two teams who are all just counting the days till their seasons are over. All tonight did was highlight jsut how crushing losing 10 games to the Astros this year has been. There is no excuse for losing to this...

Oberholtzer slips, Astros beaten by Angels 6-2

The Houston Astros needed Brett Oberholtzer to be near-perfect on a night they simply couldn't get much going against Jered Weaver. Houston's improved offense - which had helped them to four straight wins coming in - was ineffective against Weaver and the Los Angeles bullpen, striking out nine times in a 6-2 loss to the Angels on Saturday night. The Astros set an American...

Williams is sharp in Angels' 2-1 win over Astros

Jerome Williams wants to be a starter for the Angels next season. Williams kept on making his case Sunday winning a third straight start for the first time since April 2004 as the Angels beat Houston 2-1 to send the Astros to their 98th loss. Series Preview: Angels vs. Astros vs. Getting back in the race

vs.  MATCH-UP MOTTOS FRIDAY, 9/13: Jason Vargas vs. Dallas Keuchel: Kicking them while they're down. Dallas Keuchel is coming off one of his worst starts this season while Vargas is starting to hit a nice streak since coming off the DL. Vargas just killed Texas, so I'm guessing he can keep that magic alive against the city of Houston. Dallas&...

The Houston Astros' season is winding down and although there have been a lot of downs, catcher Jason Castro has come into his own providing a bit more power in his first full season with the team. Career minor leaguer Cody Clark snaps 0-for-25 streak for first MLB hit

This is great. After spending 11 years in the minors catcher Cody Clark was called up by the Astros last month. But until last night he was still looking for that elusive first MLB hit. He finally got it in the fifth inning snapping an 0-for-25 hitless streak. Here’s a link to the video. Matt Dominguez told that the ovation for Clark at Minute Maid Park was ...

Clemens impresses in Astros' 2-1 loss to Angels

Detecting a drop in velocity with his pitches early on, Astros rookie right-hander Paul Clemens knew he had to get creative in order to be effective Sunday afternoon. He did just that, giving the Astros seven strong innings in a 2-1 loss to the Los Angeles Angels. Houston, a big league-worst 51-98, is on the verge of becoming the first major league team to reach triple figures...

The Astros trailed by 1 entering the fifth before Trevor Crowe singled in two runs to put Houston up 5-4. Dominguez then hit his 20th homer off the wall in...

Angels takes series from Astros, win 2-1

After a long and particularly rough season against the Astros the Angels have finally managed to take a series from the Astros in a rather painless fashion. The team was led by the exceptional pitching of Jerome Williams in addition to strong situation hitting by Josh Hamilton. The Angels haven't just won a game today however, they've made history. Well, Mike Trout has...

Dominguez's grand slam leads Astros past Angels 9-7

Cody Clark gets his first hit Matty D opens it up with a grand slam and the bullpen doesn't slam the door but does get it shut. The Astros continued their quest to avoid 100 losses on Friday night by winning their fourth in a row and again beating up on the high-powered Anaheim Angels.
